§ 1.06. General powers.

  • The Town of Pomona Park shall have all the governmental, corporate, and proprietary powers possible for a Town to have under the constitution and laws of the State of Florida to enable it to conduct municipal government, perform municipal functions, and render municipal services. The Town of Pomona Park may exercise any power for municipal purposes except when expressly prohibited by the constitution, general law, or specific law of the State of Florida, or this Charter.

    The enumeration of particular powers is authorized; however, it is not necessary since it is intended that the Town of Pomona Park have and exercise all powers which could be specifically enumerated in this Charter, including all extraterritorial powers and jurisdiction previously granted under Laws of Florida, ch. 63-1825, or by special law or general law.
